Description
The Mayflash GameCube Controller Adapter (4-Port) lets up to four original GameCube controllers work on Nintendo Switch, Switch 2, Wii U, and Windows PC — plug-and-play via dual USB, no drivers or software required on Switch. Whether you’re hosting a Smash Bros tournament, running a retro gaming night, or setting up GameCube-era titles at a birthday party or LAN event, this gaming accessory rental is the bridge between classic GC controllers and modern hardware. You bring your own GameCube controllers; the adapter handles the rest.
The dual-USB design means one cable carries data while the second powers rumble — plug both into your Switch dock or PC for full functionality including vibration. A single toggle switch cycles between Switch/Wii U mode and PC mode, so the same adapter works across setups without reconfiguration.

GameCube Adapter Rental Tips
The adapter has two USB plugs — one black (data) and one grey or white (power/rumble). You need both plugged in for rumble to work. On the Switch dock, use two of the USB ports. On PC, use two separate USB ports. If only the data plug is connected, controllers work but rumble is disabled.
Slide the mode switch to the correct position before connecting the adapter to your system: Switch/Wii U for Nintendo hardware, PC for Windows. Changing the switch while plugged in may require unplugging and replugging to take effect.
The adapter rental includes only the adapter unit. GameCube controllers are not included. Standard Nintendo GameCube controllers (original or modern Smash Bros edition) work perfectly. Third-party controllers with a GC connector also work.
The Nintendo Switch dock has USB 3.0 (back) and USB 2.0 (side) ports. For best performance, plug the data cable into a back USB 3.0 port. The rumble/power cable can go in any USB port including the side ports. Some docks behave differently — if controllers are unresponsive, try different port combinations.
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Do GameCube controllers work on Nintendo Switch without this adapter?
No. GameCube controllers use a proprietary connector that is not natively supported by any modern system. A USB adapter like this one is required to translate the GC controller input into a protocol the Switch, Switch 2, or PC can read.
Does it work with Nintendo Switch 2?
Yes — the Mayflash adapter is compatible with Nintendo Switch 2 in Switch mode. The Switch 2 recognises GameCube controllers via the adapter the same way the original Switch does.
Which games work best with GameCube controllers on Switch?
Super Smash Bros. Ultimate and Super Smash Bros. Melee (via emulation or LAN play) are the primary use cases — the GC controller layout is considered optimal for Smash. Mario Kart, platform games, and most action titles also work well. Games that require Joy-Con motion controls, touchscreen input, or HD Rumble features are not suitable for GC controllers.
Can I use this on PC with Steam or emulators?
Yes. In PC mode, the adapter works with Steam (via Steam Input) and popular emulators including Dolphin (GameCube / Wii emulator). Dolphin has native support for the Mayflash adapter without additional drivers. For other applications you may need the Mayflash driver or a DInput/XInput wrapper.
Are GameCube controllers included?
No. The rental covers the 4-port adapter only. GameCube controllers are not included and must be supplied by the renter. Standard Nintendo GameCube controllers, Smash Bros edition GC controllers, and most third-party GC-connector controllers are all compatible.
