The Savage Portable Background Stand Kit (Port-A-Stand) is a lightweight, fully adjustable background support system for photographers and video shooters who need a clean backdrop anywhere. Two telescoping uprights and a four-section crossbar rise to 8'10" high and span up to 9'5" wide, holding seamless paper, muslin, canvas, or vinyl backdrops with ease.

A loaded background stand is top-heavy and easy to tip, especially outdoors or in a busy event space. Drop a sandbag or weight over each leg base before hanging your backdrop. It keeps the whole rig planted and protects both the gear and the people around it.
The crossbar extends to 9'5", which comfortably carries standard 53" and 107" seamless paper rolls and most muslin backdrops. Choose a backdrop wide enough to fill your frame with margin so you aren't fighting edges in post.
Pose your subject 3–6 feet in front of the backdrop. The gap lets you light the background separately, softens wrinkles and creases, and prevents hard shadows from falling on the paper or cloth — the single biggest quality win with any backdrop.
The kit collapses to under 44" and drops into its carry case, so it fits in a back seat or trunk. Loosen the crossbar sections and lower the uprights fully before packing to protect the twist locks and keep the case zipping shut easily.

Is backdrop paper or cloth included?

How wide and tall does it go?
The uprights extend to 8'10" high and the crossbar expands to 9'5" wide. Both adjust down freely, so you can size it to a tight headshot setup or open it up for full-length and group shots.
Can one person set it up?
