Use Brother P-Touch Editor software to build label templates and database files on a PC, then push them to the PT-E550W over Wi-Fi. On site your crew types a few characters to call up the right label and prints — fast, accurate, and no laptop required.
02 — Use HSe heat shrink cassettes for permanent wire marking.
Slide the printed heat shrink tube over the wire, apply heat, and it shrinks tight. HSe labels survive abrasion, chemicals, and extreme temperatures from -30°C to 100°C — far more durable than adhesive tape on bare wire.
03 — Serialize big runs automatically.
The built-in serialization function steps numbers or letters across a print run without retyping. Sequential port labels on a 48-port patch panel or a 200-cable conduit run — punch the start value, set the count, print the strip.

Label Maker Rental Tips
Confirm your lens filter thread diameter matches this filter. The thread size is stamped on the front of your lens or printed on the lens cap — measure once to avoid a wasted trip.
Adding filters on top of each other can cause dark corners (vignetting), especially on wide-angle lenses. Keep your stack to one or two filters and check corners at your widest focal length.
Use the included microfiber cloth or a lens cleaning tissue. Paper towels, shirt fabric, and compressed air with propellant can all scratch or leave residue on filter coatings.
Filters are fragile and pick up fingerprints easily. Slip it back into the padded case between setups — a clean filter saves you retouching time in post.

Does the rental include tape cassettes?
The labeler ships with one TZe cassette for initial setup and connectivity testing. Tape for your project is your responsibility — TZe, HGe, and HSe cassettes are available at most office supply stores. Pick up the widths you need for your job before heading on site.
What tape sizes does it accept?
The PT-E550W accepts TZe, HGe, STe, and HSe cassettes in 3.5, 6, 9, 12, 18, and 24 mm widths. At 24 mm you can print up to 7 lines of text per label — perfect for faceplates and large patch panels where you need more information per label.
Can I print labels from my phone?
Yes. The free Brother LabelLink app (iOS and Android) connects wirelessly over Wi-Fi Direct. Design and print from your phone without a PC — handy for last-minute changes or additions at the job site.
Is the battery charged when I receive it?
Yes — the Li-ion battery and AC adapter are included and the unit will be fully charged before it ships. We recommend a top-up charge overnight before a heavy-use day on site.
