C-Stand Rental Tips
Point the tallest (riser) leg directly under the boom arm or mounted light. This positions the center of gravity over the widest base and prevents tip-overs.
C-stands are top-heavy by design. Drop a sandbag on the tallest leg for every setup — indoors and out. A falling C-stand with a light on top is dangerous and expensive.
Position your flag, bounce, or light using the arm first, then lock the grip head knuckle. Tightening the knuckle first makes fine adjustments impossible.
The sliding leg design lets you overlap legs from adjacent stands so they can be packed closer together. On tight sets this saves valuable floor space.
