Description
The Hollyland Mars 400S PRO is a professional wireless video transmission rental for film, broadcast, and live event production. It sends 1080p60 video from your camera to a monitor, switcher, or recorder up to 400 feet away with just 0.1 seconds of latency — no cables, no compromise. Both SDI and HDMI are supported on transmitter and receiver simultaneously, making it compatible with virtually any camera, monitor, or switching system.
Eliminate the cable run between your camera and your director’s monitor, DIT cart, ATEM switcher, or livestream encoder. Powers from USB-C, the included DC adapter, or an L-series battery plate. The free Hollyview app lets up to 4 mobile devices monitor the feed live at the same time.

Wireless Video Transmission Rental Tips
The Mars 400S PRO uses 5GHz transmission — it needs line of sight to perform at rated range. Keep the TX and RX antennas upright and pointed toward each other. Walls, people, and metal equipment between TX and RX will reduce range significantly. In tight spaces, position the receiver as high as possible.
You don’t need to use the same interface on both ends. Connect your camera via SDI to the TX and output to an HDMI monitor on the RX — or vice versa. This makes it a de facto SDI-to-HDMI wireless converter, which is extremely useful when pairing professional cameras with consumer monitors.
At busy venues, events, or studios where multiple 5GHz devices are present (Wi-Fi, other wireless systems), use the channel scan function to find a clean frequency before you start rolling. This takes under a minute and prevents dropouts mid-shoot. The OLED display makes it easy to do on the unit itself.
If your camera has a USB-C port that provides power output (many mirrorless cameras do), you can power the TX directly from the camera — eliminating the need for a separate battery or cable on the transmitter side. Check your camera’s manual to confirm USB power output is supported.
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Does it work with the Blackmagic ATEM Mini?
Yes — connect the HDMI or SDI output of the RX to any HDMI input on the ATEM Mini. This is one of the most popular use cases: a wireless camera feed into a live switcher without running cables across a stage or venue floor. The 0.1s latency is imperceptible in a live-switched context.
Is 0.1 seconds of latency a problem for monitoring?
For director monitoring, focus pulling, and production use, 0.1s latency is effectively invisible — you won’t notice it. For critical real-time applications like live IEM monitoring for performers or timecode-locked multi-camera work, you’ll want to factor this in. For most rental use cases it’s a non-issue.
Does it transmit audio as well as video?
Yes — audio embedded in the HDMI or SDI signal is transmitted along with the video. If your camera is outputting HDMI with embedded audio, that audio will appear at the RX output. There are no separate audio connections — it carries whatever is embedded in the video signal.
Can I add a second receiver?
Yes — one transmitter supports up to two receivers simultaneously, allowing two separate monitoring positions from a single camera feed. Contact us when booking if you’d like to rent a second receiver unit.
