Description
The Sennheiser EW 112P G4 is the industry-standard wireless lav mic rental for on-camera video production. This camera-mount system includes the EK 100 G4 receiver, SK 100 G4 bodypack transmitter, and ME 2-II omnidirectional lavalier microphone — everything you need to capture broadcast-quality dialogue directly into your camera, recorder, or audio interface on location.
The ME 2-II omni lav is the preferred choice for interviews and documentary work — its omnidirectional pattern is forgiving of head movement and mic placement, delivering a natural, even sound without proximity effect. Used daily by documentary filmmakers, journalists, wedding videographers, and corporate video crews worldwide. Automatic frequency scan, all-metal chassis, and up to 100m range.

Wireless Lav Mic Rental Tips
Before shooting, use the automatic frequency scan to find a clean channel at your location. RF interference from Wi-Fi, other wireless systems, and building infrastructure varies location to location — a quick scan takes 10 seconds and prevents dropouts during your shoot.
The ME 2-II picks up sound from all directions equally, so it doesn’t need to point directly at the mouth. Clip it 15–20cm below the chin anywhere on the chest and it will pick up speech naturally. This makes it faster to rig on talent and more tolerant of head movement than a directional lav.
The SK 100 G4 bodypack has adjustable input sensitivity (0dB, -10dB, -20dB). Louder voices need more attenuation; soft-spoken subjects may need sensitivity turned up. Set it before rolling to avoid clipping or a noisy floor — check audio levels on the receiver’s LCD and your camera meter.
If hiding the lav under clothing, loop the cable in a small stress-relief loop before routing it under the garment — this prevents cable movement from transmitting noise to the capsule. A small piece of medical tape to secure the cable close to the mic body makes a significant difference.
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Does it connect directly to my camera?
Yes — the EK 100 G4 receiver mounts to your camera’s hot shoe via the included CA 2 adapter and connects to your camera’s 3.5mm audio input using the included CL 1 cable. For cameras with XLR inputs use the included CL 100 XLR adapter cable. Works with any DSLR, mirrorless, camcorder, or audio recorder with a 3.5mm or XLR input.
What’s the difference between the EW 112P and EW 122P G4?
The EW 112P G4 (this unit) includes the ME 2-II omnidirectional lavalier. The EW 122P G4 includes the ME 4 cardioid lavalier. The omni ME 2-II is more forgiving of placement and head movement — ideal for interviews, documentary, and events. The cardioid ME 4 rejects more off-axis noise and is better suited to louder or more chaotic environments.
How long does the battery last?
Approximately 8 hours on a fresh set of AA batteries in both the transmitter and receiver. The LCD on each unit displays remaining battery life. For all-day shoots bring spare AA batteries — they’re standard and available anywhere. Rechargeable AAs work fine and are recommended to reduce waste.
Can I use this system outdoors?
Yes — the all-metal chassis is designed for location use including outdoors. The locking connector on the bodypack keeps the lav cable secure during movement. Note that the omni ME 2-II picks up more ambient wind noise than a directional lav — a foam windscreen over the capsule is highly recommended for outdoor shoots in any breeze.
