USB-C Adapter Rental Tips
An HDMI cable is not included. For 4K output use a Premium High Speed HDMI 2.0 cable. Standard cables work at 1080p but may not reliably carry a 4K signal — worth checking before your shoot if 4K output matters.
The USB-C port supports pass-through charging — connect your Mac or iPad charger here while the adapter is in use to keep your device powered during long presentations or monitoring sessions.
On a Mac, go to System Settings → Displays to choose mirror mode (same image on both screens) or extended desktop (two separate screens). For client presentations mirror is simplest. For editing, extend to put your timeline on the external display.
Works with any USB-C or Thunderbolt Mac, all USB-C iPad Pro and Air models, iPad mini 6th gen+, and iPhone 15+. Does not work with older Lightning iPhones or iPads. Not officially supported on Windows or Android devices.
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Will it work with my MacBook?
Yes — any MacBook Air or MacBook Pro with a USB-C or Thunderbolt port (all models from 2016 onward). Plug it into any USB-C port and connect your HDMI cable. No setup required.
Does it work with my iPad?
Yes — all iPad Pro models, iPad Air 4th gen and later, iPad mini 6th gen and later, and iPad 10th gen and later. Does not work with older iPads that use a Lightning connector.
Can I connect it to a projector?
Yes — any projector with an HDMI input works. Connect the adapter to your Mac or iPad, run an HDMI cable to the projector, and your display mirrors automatically. Most projectors max out at 1080p so 4K capability isn’t needed there.
Does it carry audio too?
Yes — HDMI carries both video and audio. Whatever audio your Mac or iPad is playing will come through the TV or monitor’s speakers automatically when connected via this adapter.
